Overview

The Vimar Idea 16333 is a flush-mount RCA (Cinch) outlet module that brings three signal connections to a clean, wall-plate style finish on board. It installs as a 1-module insert and uses screw terminals on the rear for wiring.

It is rated IP20 and measures 49.80 mm wide, 50.10 mm high, and 32.80 mm deep, so it belongs in protected interior spaces like a cabin bulkhead, nav station panel, or inside a dry console rather than anywhere exposed to spray or washdowns.

The insert is thermoplastic and halogen-free with a matte surface. There is no dust cover, no hinged lid, and no built-in strain relief, so plan cable support behind the panel in areas that see vibration.

This item is offered in two color configurations for matching different Idea plates and interiors.

The connector format, mounting method, IP20 rating, and overall dimensions remain the same across the range, with the face color being the change between versions.

• VM16333 / Color Gray. A grey face with RAL 7015 (similar), commonly used for darker interior trim and panels where you want the outlet to blend in rather than stand out.
• VM16333.B / Color Ivory. A white-toned face with RAL 9001 (similar) that reads as an off-white in most interiors and pairs well with lighter plates and headliner areas.

Installation and setup

This module is intended for flush mounting. On a boat, that usually means installing it into an appropriate recessed box or panel mount point behind a cover plate, with enough clearance for the 32.80 mm device depth and for bending the connected signal cables.

Terminate the signal runs to the rear screw terminals and secure the cables so vibration does not work the conductors loose over time. Keep low-level audio and video cables separated from AC wiring and high-current DC runs where possible to reduce noise pickup on longer routes.

Compatibility and fit

It is a 1-module insert in the Vimar Idea system, meant to be used with compatible Idea mounting supports and cover plates. If your boat already uses Idea switches and outlets, this matches the same modular format so you can keep the same plate layout and spacing.
