Overview
The Garmin 010-12462-10 is a small portable ice fishing kit that lets you run a compatible 4 to 7 inch STRIKER fishfinder or ECHOMAP combo from a carry bag with its own power and an ice transducer. It includes a GT8HW-IF high-wide CHIRP traditional sonar transducer (150 to 240 kHz, 250 W) with a selectable 16 to 24 degree beamwidth.
The setup is built around a case that stays easy to handle with gloves and keeps your head unit, cables, and power components together in one place. The fishfinder or combo display is not included.
This style of kit makes sense when you want to move the same head unit between a boat in the warmer months and the ice in winter, or when you want a portable sonar package that stows away fast after a day on the water.

Compatibility and fit
This kit is intended for Garmin 4 to 7 inch STRIKER fishfinders and ECHOMAP combo units that support CHIRP traditional sonar. The included GT8HW-IF transducer uses a 4-pin connection, so the head unit needs the matching 4-pin sonar connector or the correct adapter.
If your unit normally lives on a quick-release bracket at the console, this kit gives you a second way to run the same screen without reworking your main install. It also keeps the head unit protected when it is off the boat.
Installation and setup
Place the head unit in the case, connect the power lead and transducer, and route the cables through the grommet. On the ice, lower the transducer into the hole and set the foam float so the element stays below the ice and away from the underside.
After fishing, coil the cable back into the storage area and let the case, connectors, and transducer dry before packing everything away.
Use on board
On a small boat, a portable bag setup can be a practical way to protect the display and keep the sonar ready without leaving electronics exposed at the dock. It also fits anglers who trailer, switch between boats, or want one sonar head unit that works across seasons.
Maintenance and care
Wipe down the case and cables after use, and rinse off any salt spray if the kit has been on deck. Keep connectors clean and fully dry before charging the battery or storing the system.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team.
