Overview
The TACO Marine WP-850-950 is a 6-degree plastic wedge plate for correcting the mounting angle of Grand Slam 850 and Grand Slam 950 hardware on a curved T-top. It sits under the compatible mount or light so the installed unit stands perpendicular to the T-top surface rather than leaning with the curve.
This is a small but important fitment piece for boats with hardtops, fiberglass T-tops, or slightly crowned mounting areas. It is made for the Grand Slam 850 Electric VHF Antenna Mount and the Grand Slam 950 Electric Masthead Anchor Light, helping keep the installation straight, clean, and easier to align from the helm or deck.
Key features
- 6-degree wedge corrects the angle of compatible GS-850 and GS-950 installations on curved T-top surfaces.
- Fits the Grand Slam 850 Electric VHF Antenna Mount and Grand Slam 950 Electric Masthead Anchor Light.
- Plastic wedge plate keeps the installation simple without adding unnecessary metal hardware at the mounting surface.
- No drilling is required when used with the compatible TACO Grand Slam mounting hardware.
- Useful for boats where the top has crown or curvature that would otherwise leave the antenna mount or light tilted.
Installation and fit
This wedge plate is meant for the mounting area between the boat’s T-top and the compatible Grand Slam unit. Before installation, check that the top surface has the type of curve this wedge is intended to correct and that the hardware being installed is a GS-850 or GS-950 model.
The 6-degree angle helps the mount or light sit upright, which matters for both appearance and function. A straight VHF antenna mount is easier to position and stow cleanly, while a masthead or anchor light benefits from being aligned properly above the top.
Use cases on board
This part is a good match for center consoles, fishing boats, and cruising boats with T-tops where electronics or lighting hardware is being added to a curved overhead surface. It is especially useful during a new GS-850 or GS-950 installation, or when replacing hardware and correcting a previous tilted fit.
Maintenance and care
During routine washdowns, check the mounting area for trapped salt, dirt, or movement around the hardware. Keeping the wedge and surrounding surface clean helps the installation stay neat and reduces buildup around the base of the mount or light.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
