Overview
This Blue Sea Systems 12V DC dash socket with watertight cap is a panel-mounted power outlet for adding a protected 12V accessory connection at the helm, cockpit, console, cabin, or other exposed onboard location. It is rated for 12V DC service with a 15A maximum amperage and fits a 1 1/8 in (28.58 mm) diameter cutout.
The covered socket helps keep dust and moisture out when it is not in use, while the twist-lock design lets a compatible plug lock into place instead of working loose from vibration. Nickel-plated copper alloy current-carrying components and large contact surfaces help maintain a solid electrical connection for common 12V boat accessories.
Key features
- 12V DC dash socket for adding an accessory power point on a boat panel, dash, console, or bulkhead.
- 15A maximum amperage rating when installed with properly sized wire and circuit protection.
- Watertight cap helps protect the socket opening when the outlet is not being used.
- Twist-lock system secures a compatible plug in the socket, which is useful in wet areas and high-vibration locations.
- Fits a 1 1/8 in (28.58 mm) diameter cutout for replacement work or new panel installations.
- Nickel-plated copper alloy is used for current-carrying components to support clean electrical contact.
- Can be installed as a front panel, rear panel, or surface mount socket depending on the panel layout.
- Uses .250 female quick-connect terminals for wiring.
Variants
This dash socket is offered in two color configurations for matching different helm panels, consoles, and interior finishes.
The electrical function, 12V DC rating, 15A maximum amperage, cutout size, twist-lock socket style, and mounting options remain the same across the color choices.
- 1011200: White. The white finish suits light-colored dashboards, fiberglass panels, cabin cabinetry, and clean console layouts where the outlet should blend into the surrounding surface.
- 1011: Black. The black finish works well on dark helm panels, switch panels, electronics pods, and utility areas where a darker socket is visually consistent with other controls.
Installation and fit
This socket is meant for 12V DC systems and should be wired through suitable overcurrent protection with wire sized for the circuit length and load. The 1 1/8 in cutout makes it practical for replacing many worn accessory sockets or adding a dedicated outlet for handheld electronics, spotlights, inflators, portable coolers, and other 12V accessories used on board.
For exposed helm or cockpit locations, mount the socket where the cap can close fully and where the wiring behind the panel has enough clearance and strain relief. The front, rear, or surface mount options give installers flexibility when working with thick panels, tight consoles, or retrofit spaces.
Use cases on board
This socket is a good fit for boat owners who need a simple 12V accessory outlet with a cap that can handle spray-prone areas better than an open automotive-style socket. It is useful on fishing boats, center consoles, cruisers, workboats, and sailboats where portable 12V gear needs a secure connection close to the helm or cockpit.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
