Overview

The Lumishore 010-04408-00 is a 5000 mm LUX SL180 CRGBW LED strip light for above-water accent lighting on boats, with tunable white from 2700K to 6500K and 180 LEDs per meter.

The strip is fully encapsulated and potted with an IP68 rating and a slim 14.5 mm x 5 mm cross section, so it fits cleanly under gunwales, toe-kicks, lockers, and hardtop overhangs where you want the light hidden.

It must be run through a compatible LUX Strip Light Driver (required) and it is supplied as a factory-sealed length to maintain the IP68 seal.

Key features
  • 5 m (5000 mm) pre-made length that is factory sealed to maintain the IP68 rating and is not intended to be cut.
  • Full spectrum CRGBW lighting plus tunable white (2700K to 6500K) for color scenes and practical white light.
  • 180 LEDs per meter with a 5 W per meter power rating for planning driver capacity and onboard loads.
  • IP68 rated housing with UV-resistant materials and salt spray testing for exposed installs above the waterline.
  • Low-profile strip (14.5 mm x 5 mm) that tucks into channels and tight trim lines without bulky fixtures.
  • Installs with adhesive backing, with the option to add mechanical fastening where spray, heat, or tight bends call for extra hold.
  • Works with a LUX Strip Light Driver, with support for multiple strips per driver up to 10 m total.
  • Control can be via a momentary switch, or expanded into EOS-LUX setups that support compatible MFD integration with the right interface accessories.
What’s included
  • One (1) LUX Strip Light SL180, 5000 mm length
Installation and setup

Lay out the route before peeling the backing. The strip has a minimum 50 mm bend radius in the vertical axis and it should not be twisted or bent sideways.

For the adhesive to hold, clean the mounting surface with isopropyl alcohol and press along the edges of the strip rather than over the LEDs. In damp lockers, open cockpits, and other exposed spots, add mechanical fastening along the run and around bends. Let the adhesive set for 24 hours before powering it on.

This strip is supplied in a factory-sealed length to maintain the IP68 seal, so it should not be cut or re-terminated.

Electrical and control

The strip connects to a compatible LUX Strip Light Driver module and should not be wired directly to the boat's 12 V or 24 V supply. The driver supplies the strip and handles dimming and color control.

Control can be as simple as a momentary switch, or expanded into an EOS-LUX network setup that can be tied into supported MFD control with the correct interface accessories.

When planning the system, note the 5 W per meter rating and the 10 m total strip limit per driver.

Compatibility and fit

Use it for above-water applications where an IP68 strip helps with spray and washdowns, such as under gunwales, coamings, steps, console toe-kicks, and inside lockers. It is not meant for permanent submersion.

The 5 m length works well when you want a continuous run across a cockpit or along a cabin perimeter without splices. Measure the route and allow for gentle bends so the strip lays flat.

Use cases on board

This is a good match for boaters who want one strip that can switch between color scenes and adjustable white for practical lighting, without adding bulky fixtures. It also suits installs where space is tight and you want the light tucked into a recess or channel.

Maintenance and care

Rinse salt film off with fresh water during routine washdowns and avoid harsh solvents on the encapsulated surface. If the strip is mounted where it sees strong direct sun, keep it shaded where practical to reduce heat buildup and help the adhesive stay put.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
