Overview
The Lumishore 010-04353-00 is an ORA SMX11 surface-mount underwater LED light that runs on 12 V DC and outputs green light. It has an IP68 ingress rating, a 60 degree beam, and a built-in driver, so it wires up like a straightforward on/off accessory rather than a networked lighting system.
For fit on the hull, the light face measures 85 mm (3.34 in) in diameter and the housing sits 10 mm (0.39 in) proud of the mounting surface. A 2 m (6.5 ft) light cable is attached, and the cable pass-through calls for a 13 mm (0.51 in) hole.
This style of light can be installed above or below the waterline. Automatic thermal roll-back is built in to help protect the light when it runs warm, which is helpful if it is operated out of the water at the dock.
Key features
- 12 V DC only (10.5 to 14.5 V DC input range) with up to 1 A current draw
- Single-color green output with simple on/off switch control
- IP68-rated housing for underwater mounting and washdowns
- 60 degree beam with a 6 x 3 W high-power LED array (2,475 lumens rating)
- 85 mm (3.34 in) face diameter and 10 mm (0.39 in) housing profile for surface mounting
- 2 m (6.5 ft) attached cable; 13 mm (0.51 in) cable hole cut-out
- Built-in protections including reverse polarity protection, soft start electronics protection, and surge protection (3,000 V)
- Bonding is not required; housing is marine-grade polymer
What’s included
- Underwater light with attached 2 m (6.5 ft) cable
- Three A4 stainless steel mounting screws
Installation and setup
Mounting is a surface install that uses one cable hole and three screws. The cable hole is 13 mm (1/2 in), with pilot holes for the screws at 3.5 mm (9/64 in). The outside of the hull is recessed to accept the cable gland on the back of the light, to a depth of 15 mm.
For underwater installs, the mounting surface needs to be flat and accessible from behind so the cable can be routed cleanly. Typical placement for underwater illumination is 100 to 300 mm (4 to 12 in) below the waterline, on the transom or side hull. The light should not be placed close to an exhaust outlet or another heat source.
Marine sealant is applied around the cable entry and screw holes, with a continuous bead around the light body before fastening. The screws are tightened by hand; overtightening and power tools are avoided. For below-waterline installs, allow the sealant to fully cure before launching.
Electrical and system integration
This light is for 12 V DC systems only and is not used on 24 V DC or AC. With the internal driver, wiring is a direct run to a switched 12 V supply.
Each light is individually fused with a 2 A fuse, and the unit draws up to 1 A at 12 V under normal operation. Reverse polarity protection is built in, which helps reduce the risk of damage if leads are accidentally swapped during install.
Placement and use on board
On a transom install, it is commonly positioned where the beam can spread cleanly without being blocked by steps, strakes, or hardware. When three or more lights are installed, spacing of about 2.5 to 3 ft is used to keep the light pool looking even along the stern.
This is a good match for smaller boats that want underwater lighting without committing to a thru-hull installation. It also fits setups where the lights are used at the dock and occasionally out of the water, since thermal roll-back helps manage heat.
Maintenance and care
Lens cleaning is typically minimal when the boat is used regularly. If growth builds up, a soft cloth or a soft-bristled brush is used to avoid scratching the lens and housing.
Cleaning fluids that contain solvents, acids, or alkalis are avoided. As with any underwater hardware, checking the sealant line and cable routing during routine haul-outs helps prevent surprises later in the season.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
