Overview
The JL Audio 010-03134-00 is a JL Audio MMR-5N2K MediaMaster NMEA 2000 volume controller that adds an extra, networked volume knob for a compatible MediaMaster source unit. It connects via an NMEA 2000 Micro-C drop and carries an IPX7 water resistance rating (tested to 1 m for up to 30 minutes when properly installed).
It installs from the front of a flat panel and needs a single 1.5-inch (38 mm) cutout, with at least 2.35 inches (60 mm) square of flat surface for the trim ring. For wiring, it can interface with a vessel NMEA 2000 network using the appropriate cables and connectors (not included), or it can be wired directly to one MediaMaster source unit using MMC-PN2K powered network cables (sold separately) to create a small, stand-alone network.
All control comes from the connected MediaMaster. Volume changes apply across the stereo’s zones, and the knob press toggles mute and unmute, which is handy when you want quick control at the helm or in the cockpit without reaching for the main display.

Compatibility and fit
This controller is made to work with JL Audio MediaMaster source units, including MM105, MM100s-BE, MM100s, MM80-HR, and MM50. It should be connected to a single MediaMaster source unit through an NMEA 2000 network (full vessel network or a stand-alone powered network cable setup).
For zone behavior, the host stereo’s zone level control mode needs to be set to Relative or Variable. Once connected, volume adjustments act across all zones together.
Installation and setup
Mount it in a flat panel where you can reach the back side for the connector and cable routing, and avoid areas of extreme heat. Cut a 1.5-inch (38 mm) hole, position the unit with the alignment arrow at the 12 o’clock position, then mark and drill the pilot holes for the two mounting screws.
After securing the body, press the trim ring on with the JL Audio logo oriented at the top, then install the keyed volume knob. Plan the cable path before drilling and secure wiring so it cannot chafe or move with vibration.
Use on board
The LED ring gives simple feedback during normal use: solid on indicates a compatible source is detected, a repeating two-flash pattern indicates no compatible source is detected, and a slow pulse indicates the system is muted. LED ring brightness can be set from the controller, which helps when moving between night runs and full-sun days.
This is a good match for boats where the MediaMaster head unit is mounted away from where people actually listen, such as a helm stereo with cockpit speakers, or a cabin source unit with a second control point in the cockpit.
Environmental notes
IPX7 water resistance covers washdowns and heavy spray when installed correctly, but it is not meant for prolonged submersion or situations that create pressure beyond its depth rating. On saltwater boats, a quick fresh-water rinse after a rough day helps keep the bezel and knob turning smoothly.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
