Overview
The JL Audio 010-13854-00 is a JL Audio MMC-2Y 2-way Y-adaptor that splits a MediaMaster source unit remote connection so you can run multiple non-NMEA 2000 remote controllers. It supports connecting up to three non-NMEA 2000 remotes to one MediaMaster source unit, which is handy when you want control at more than one spot on the boat.
This adaptor is part of the JL Audio MediaMaster wired remote cable system that uses a 5-pin connector with a threaded collar. For longer runs, it can be used with MMC extension cables, and each remote cable run can be up to 75 ft (22.8 m) total length between the source unit and that remote.
Key features
- Splits a MediaMaster wired remote connection to support up to three non-NMEA 2000 remote controllers on one source unit.
- Works with the JL Audio MMC remote cable system that uses a keyed 5-pin connector with a threaded collar.
- Compatible with MMC extension cables, including MMC-6 (6 ft) and MMC-25 (25 ft), to reach additional helm stations or zones.
- Supports remote cable runs up to 75 ft (22.8 m) total length per remote from the source unit.
Compatibility and fit
This adaptor is for MediaMaster wired remotes that are not NMEA 2000 devices. It is commonly used in setups with MediaMaster source units such as MM100S, MM100SBE, or MM50 and wired remotes such as MMR20, MMR20BE, or MMR10W, where the control cables use the 5-pin threaded-collar connection.
If your system is using NMEA 2000 network cabling for control, this is not the connection style to look for. Match the connector type on your remote cable and confirm it is the non-NMEA 2000 wired remote system before ordering.
Installation and setup
Plan the split point where you can keep connections accessible and out of standing water, such as behind the helm, inside a console, or in a dry locker. Align the keyed connectors, then hand-tighten the threaded collar so the connection stays secure under vibration.
Route cables with chafe protection where they pass through bulkheads or rigging tubes, and leave a little service loop so the connectors are not carrying the cable weight. On boats that see frequent washdowns, keeping the connection point higher and using a drip loop helps keep moisture from migrating along the cable.
Use cases on board
This adaptor makes sense on boats that need more than one wired audio control point, like a main helm and an aft cockpit station, or a cabin remote plus cockpit control on a cruiser. It is also useful when a third wired remote is needed for a tower, transom, or lounge area and you are staying within the allowed cable run length.
Maintenance and care
During seasonal checks, inspect the cable runs for chafe and make sure the threaded collars are still snug. If a connection is opened during service, keep the pins clean and dry before re-mating, and re-secure the cable so the connector is not left hanging in a wet or high-movement area.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
