Overview

The Simrad 000-15757-001 is the RI-50 radar interface and power module for Simrad HALO 2000 and HALO 3000 series open array radars, taking 12 V or 24 V DC and supplying the pedestal with 50 V DC (nominal) when the radar is transmitting. It accepts 12 V input from 10.8 to 15.6 V DC, and 24 V input from 20 to 31.2 V DC at the RI-50 terminals.

It also handles the radar network connection, so radar control and returns travel over Ethernet. The module uses the Navico yellow 5-pin Ethernet style at the radar end, with an adapter that lets you interface from a standard RJ45 connection.

For commissioning and troubleshooting, the front panel has LED indicators for power, fault, status, and Ethernet activity. The housing is rated IPX5 for wet marine environments, which suits typical mounting in a console, electronics bay, or technical locker where it stays out of standing water.

Key features
  • Compatible with Simrad HALO 2000 and HALO 3000 series open array radar systems
  • 12/24 V DC input support with defined limits: 10.8 to 15.6 V (12 V) and 20 to 31.2 V (24 V)
  • Generates 50 V DC (nominal) to the radar pedestal during transmit
  • Ethernet-based radar connection for data and control, with LED for link and traffic
  • Adapter included to interface between RJ45 Ethernet and Navico yellow 5-pin Ethernet style
  • Front LED indicators for power, fault, status, and Ethernet to speed up dockside diagnostics
  • IPX5-rated enclosure for exposed marine installations
What's included
  • RI-50 radar interface and power module
  • Ethernet cable, 1.8 m (6.0 ft)
  • Ethernet adapter cable, RJ45 male to 5-pin female (Navico yellow), 150 mm (5.9 in)
Compatibility and fit

This module is used with HALO 2000 and HALO 3000 series systems. Pedestals built for older RI-12 interface modules are not compatible with an RI-50, so confirm the radar series before swapping hardware.

Installation and setup

Plan the mounting location so the pedestal interconnect and Ethernet leads can be routed without tight bends and so the heatsink area can shed heat. IPX5 covers spray and washdowns, but the unit should be mounted above bilge level and away from places that can flood.

Set the 12/24 V selection correctly before applying power, and verify the supply remains within the stated input limits at the RI-50 terminals. During startup, the status LEDs help confirm that power, pedestal output, and network communications are behaving normally.

Electrical and network integration

The RI-50 sits between your DC distribution and the radar pedestal, so it should be fed from a dedicated, properly protected circuit sized for the radar installation. Use marine-grade wiring and secure terminations to avoid voltage drop at the interface module.

Radar video and control are carried over Ethernet. The included RJ45-to-Navico-yellow adapter supports connection to a compatible multifunction display or through an Ethernet switch. For functions that depend on position and heading on board, those sensors typically feed the display over NMEA 2000 and the display passes the data to the radar over Ethernet.

On-board use

This is a good match for boats running HALO 2000 or HALO 3000 open array radar on 12 V or 24 V systems where you want a single interface box that handles the power conversion and gives clear status feedback when you are commissioning the radar or chasing an intermittent power or network issue.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
