Overview
The JL Audio 010-13428-00 is a JL Audio MLC-RW marine lighting controller for RGB LED circuits, giving you color and brightness control from the included rotary encoder or over Wi-Fi using the LiteWave ITI app on a compatible iOS or Android device. It runs on 10 to 17.6 V DC and supports up to 30 A continuous output (up to 400 W).
This controller is built around a common-positive RGB layout: your lighting network shares a +12 V feed, and the controller provides separate negative outputs for the red, green, and blue channels. That wiring style matches many marine RGB accent systems used for cockpit and cabin glow, speaker rings, toe-kick lighting, lockers, and hardtop or helm-area accents.
Key features
- 10 to 17.6 V DC operating range for typical 12 V onboard electrical systems
- Up to 30 A continuous output capacity (up to 400 W total load)
- Common-positive RGB wiring with dedicated negative outputs for Red, Green, and Blue channels
- Built-in Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) for wireless control alongside the physical rotary encoder
- Over-current and short-circuit protection, plus voltage and temperature monitoring
- Rotary encoder mounts through panels up to 0.625 in (16 mm) thick; an adapter bracket supports under-dash style mounting
Installation and setup
Mount the control module in a spot that stays dry and has airflow, such as behind the helm, inside a protected console, or in an electronics space away from direct spray. Avoid engine compartments and areas that see extreme heat.
The rotary encoder gives you on-the-spot control at the helm. It cycles through Color Spectrum, Brightness, and Color Cycle modes, so you can dial in the look without pulling out a phone.
Electrical and wiring notes
Plan your power feed and fuse based on the total current draw of the connected RGB lighting network. Because this controller can support high current, keep wire routing tidy, protect conductors from chafe, and minimize voltage drop on long runs.
Confirm your RGB lights are compatible with a shared positive feed and separate negative returns for each color channel. If your lighting system uses a different topology, it may not behave correctly when connected.
Use cases on board
This is a good match for boats running 12 V RGB accent lighting that want both a physical helm control and optional wireless adjustments from a mobile device. It also fits refits where multiple LED zones are tied into a single RGB network and need smoother dimming and color transitions.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
