Overview
The JL Audio 010-03129-00 is the JL Audio MMR-40 wired NMEA 2000 network controller that adds a full-function remote station for a connected MediaMaster source unit.
It connects with a NMEA 2000 Micro-C connector and shows source and control information on a 2.8-inch full-color LCD, with backlit buttons and a day or night display setting that can be changed from the face.
The front is IP66 rated for wet helm and cockpit locations, and the included mounting template calls out 3.74 in (95 mm) and 3.12 in (80 mm) reference dimensions to help plan panel space before cutting.
Key features
- NMEA 2000 Certified network controller (LEN 4) for MediaMaster source unit control over the boat network.
- 2.8-inch full-color LCD with large backlit controls for visibility on an open console or enclosed helm.
- Day and night display themes with lighting controls from the keypad for easier viewing after dark.
- IP66-rated face for rain, spray, and routine washdowns; it is not intended for submersion or high-pressure water spray.
- NMEA 2000 Micro-C connection for a standard backbone, using the appropriate NMEA 2000 cables and connectors (not included).
- Can be connected directly to one host MediaMaster using MMC-PN2K powered network cables (sold separately) to form an isolated, stereo-only NMEA 2000 network; powered-cable setups support up to two NMEA 2000 devices.
- USB connection for future software updates.
Installation and setup
This controller is built for flush mounting into a dash or panel. Use the included template to mark the cutout and pilot holes, and make sure you have clearance behind the mounting surface for the unit and its harness before you drill. The gasket seals the bezel against the panel when installed.
For boats with an existing NMEA 2000 backbone, connect it with a Micro-C drop cable and tee (not included). For a stereo-only install without a backbone, it can be linked to one MediaMaster using MMC-PN2K powered network cables (sold separately) and a 12 V feed. This unit does not operate as a stand-alone controller and requires a connected MediaMaster source unit.
Compatibility and on-board use
The MMR-40 makes sense when you want MediaMaster control at a second location, such as adding a remote at the aft cockpit, near a fishing station, or at a second helm. It is a straightforward fit for boats already running NMEA 2000, and it also works for installations where the stereo is the only NMEA 2000 segment.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
