Overview

The Lumishore 010-04514-00 is a Lumishore ORA THX204 single color blue thru-hull underwater LED light for 12V and 24V DC systems. It runs on 10.5 to 31 V DC and is rated IP68 for continuous submersion.

This light installs as a true thru-hull fitting with a 16.5 mm (21/32 in) shaft hole cutout, then clamps from inside the hull. The outside profile stays low with an 18 mm housing height and a 95 mm light face, and it throws a wide 110 degree beam to fill in the water around the stern or along the hull side.

It is a straightforward on and off blue light with an internal driver and a standard 2 m (6 ft 6 in) cable. On boats up to 24 m (80 ft), it is a solid fit for owners who want a blue underwater glow at the dock, at anchor, or during slow evening runs.

Installation and setup

Plan the mounting spot where the hull is flat and you have clear access on the inside for the lock ring and cable routing. Typical placement is on the transom or side hull, roughly 100 to 300 mm (4 to 12 in) below the minimum load waterline, while staying clear of exhaust outlets and other heat sources.

The thru-hull stem passes through a 16.5 mm hole, and the seal relies on a continuous bead of marine sealant around the sealing groove and stem. Tighten the retaining hardware lightly during initial assembly so the sealant can form properly, then re-tighten after the sealant has fully cured.

Electrical and system integration

Wiring is a simple two-wire connection: red to DC positive and black to ground. Control is handled with a standard on and off switch, and every light should be individually fused or protected by its own breaker at 6A (12V) or 4A (24V).

If you extend the cable, size the extension conductors for low voltage drop and waterproof every splice. Keeping voltage drop within 3% is a good marine practice for high-draw lighting circuits.

Compatibility and fit

This is a permanent thru-hull underwater light, so it is best matched to fiberglass, aluminum, and other hull constructions where the inside of the mounting area is reachable and can be sealed correctly. The 95 mm face and low outside profile help when you need a clean exterior footprint, while the small 16.5 mm shaft hole cutout keeps drilling to a minimum compared with many larger thru-hull lights.

Maintenance and care

Check the lens area regularly for marine growth, especially in warm or nutrient-rich water. Clean with a soft cloth or a soft bristled brush.

Avoid abrasive pads and cleaners that contain solvents, acids, or alkalis. Do not pressure wash or sandblast the light. Light body discoloration over time can occur and does not affect operation, and occasional condensation inside the lens can happen with high power LEDs and typically clears after the unit cools.
