Overview

The Lumishore 010-04508-00 is a surface-mount underwater LED light with full RGBW color control, running on 10.5 to 31 V DC for 12 V and 24 V boats. White mode is rated at 7,000 fixture lumens with a 90 degree beam angle, so you get a broad wash of light off the transom without the tight hot spot you see with narrower optics.

The housing is made from marine bronze with a borosilicate glass lens and an IP68 water-ingress rating for below-the-waterline mounting. It sits low on the hull with a 95 mm (3.75 in) face and an 18 mm (0.71 in) profile, which helps when you need output but do not have the depth for a thru-hull light.

Key features
  • Input power range: 10.5 to 31 V DC (supports 12 V and 24 V electrical systems)
  • Max current draw: 4.0 A at 12 V, 2.0 A at 24 V
  • RGBW color control plus a 7,000 fixture-lumen white mode
  • 90 degree beam angle for wide-area illumination
  • IP68 water-ingress rating for underwater installation
  • 95 mm (3.75 in) light face diameter with an 18 mm (0.71 in) housing profile
  • Body made from marine bronze with a borosilicate glass lens; bonding is not required
  • Built-in protection features including 3000 V surge protection, reverse polarity protection, soft-start electronics protection, and automatic thermal roll-back
  • Lumi-DMX communications (DMX512 and RDMX compatible) with support for zoning, scenes, and individually addressable lights
Compatibility and fit

This light is commonly mounted on transoms, stepped hulls, and side-mount positions where a surface fixture makes more sense than cutting a large thru-hull opening. The cable pass-through hole for the wiring is 13.5 mm (17/32 in), so confirm you have clearance for the drill size and for routing the cable inside the hull.

It is rated for hull materials of all types, but conductive hulls need a hull isolation kit between the fixture and the hull. Plan placement with other underwater gear in mind and keep the lens clear of strakes, intakes, and trailer bunks so the beam is not blocked.

Electrical and control integration

On a 12 V system, size the circuit for up to 4.0 A draw; on a 24 V system, plan for up to 2.0 A. Good installs keep the connection points high and dry inside the boat, use proper sealing at the cable pass-through, and route wiring away from heat sources and moving gear in the bilge.

Control is handled over Lumi-DMX (DMX512 and RDMX compatible), which supports multi-light setups with addressing, zones, and scenes. If you are integrating with a helm display or adding WiFi control, that is done through a compatible lighting control system rather than wiring the light directly to a simple on-off switch.

Installation and setup

Because this is mounted below the waterline, the details matter: bed the housing in marine sealant, seal the cable hole carefully, and follow proper fastener practices for your hull material. The unit uses three mounting screws, and it helps to dry-fit first so the cable exits cleanly and does not kink as it enters the hull.

After launch, check the inside of the hull around the cable pass-through for any seepage and re-check after the first few runs if your boat sees heavy vibration or hull flex.

Use cases on board

On fishing boats, a pair on the transom can light up the wash when drifting or backing down, while RGBW control lets you switch between bright white for cleanup and colored scenes when you are tied up at the dock. The wide beam is also useful on cruisers where you want more area coverage around the swim platform and aft quarters.

This is a strong fit for boats already running a DMX-capable lighting network, or for new installs where you want color control and a high-output white mode in a surface-mount form.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
