Overview
The Garmin 010-03855-01 is a GPSMAP 1543xsv ultrawide chartplotter and fishfinder combo with a 15-inch IPS touchscreen and built-in Garmin Navionics+ mapping. The display runs at 1920 x 720 pixels, the viewable area measures 13.6 in x 5.1 in (14.5 in diagonal), and the unit is rated IPX7 for typical helm exposure.
It supports 10 to 32 VDC, so it fits 12 V and 24 V systems. Sonar is built in, with support for 1 kW CHIRP traditional plus Ultra High-Definition ClearVü and SideVü scanning (transducer required; sold separately).
For larger electronics packages, it integrates into common boat networks through Garmin Marine Network, NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183, and J1939 connections, so charts, sonar, engine data, audio, AIS/VHF, and control pages can live on one display.
Key features
- 15-inch ultrawide IPS touchscreen with 1920 x 720 resolution
- IPX7 water rating for exposed helm installs
- Built-in support for 1 kW CHIRP traditional sonar plus UHD ClearVü and SideVü scanning (transducer required; sold separately)
- Split-screen layout support to keep chart, sonar, and data views readable on the ultrawide format
- 10 to 32 VDC input with a 6 A fast-acting fuse in the power lead
- Garmin Marine Network, NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183, and J1939 connectivity for radar, autopilot, audio, AIS/VHF, and engine integration
- Two rear microSD slots (up to 32 GB per card; class 10 or higher) for charts, updates, and data
- Built-in Wi-Fi for app connectivity, chart management, and software updates
Installation and setup
Flush-mount hardware and a gasket are included, and the mounting brackets clamp from the back of the panel, so plan on having access behind the dash during install. When flush mounting, the mounting surface should be close to flat; curvature beyond 0.5 mm (1/64 in.) across the mounting area can put stress on the housing.
The included brackets are intended for mounting surfaces up to 25 mm (1 in.) thick. If your dash is thicker, brackets are available to accommodate up to 50 mm (2 in.). Two microSD slots sit on the back of the unit; if you will not be able to reach them after installation, load cards before the final mount.
Cover any unused connectors with the attached weather caps, and use marine sealant around the cutout when mounting in a wet helm or open console.
Electrical and system integration
Power input is 10 to 32 VDC. The harness includes an in-line fuse holder and uses a 6 A fast-acting fuse; keep the fuse holder in place.
If you need to extend the power run, wire gauge matters. Use 10 AWG for extensions up to 4.6 m (15 ft), 8 AWG up to 7 m (23 ft), or 6 AWG up to 11 m (36 ft), and keep all splices sealed against moisture and vibration.
The power/NMEA 0183 harness provides one differential NMEA 0183 input and output, plus accessory and alarm wires for optional wake and alert circuits.
Networking and sonar connections
Along with the 12-pin transducer port, the back panel includes Garmin Marine Network, NMEA 2000, and J1939 engine connections, plus composite video in for a camera feed. This is useful when you want the chartplotter to share data with other compatible displays, bring engine information onto the helm screen, or add a close-range camera view for docking.
A NMEA 2000 backbone/drop cable and T-connector are included, which helps when adding the unit to an existing backbone or starting a small network for heading sensors, autopilots, AIS, or audio control.
Use on board
The ultrawide format helps when you want charts and sonar up at the same time without shrinking either view too far. SailAssist sailing tools are also available, including laylines and race start line guidance when the needed sensors are on the network.
This unit fits boats that want one large helm display and room to expand into a networked system, including center consoles, bay boats, cruisers, and performance sailboats.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
