Overview
The Lumitec 101835 is a surface-mount navigation light that shows starboard green over a 112.5° arc, with U.S. Coast Guard 2 nautical mile visibility for vessels up to 50 m (165 ft). It runs on 10-30 VDC for 12V and 24V DC systems, and it draws about 25 mA at 12V or 15 mA at 24V in navigation mode.
This is the classic aluminum half-round style for mounting on a vertical face when you do not have (or do not want) a molded pocket for inset lights. It fits cleanly on hardtop sides, cabin houses, and radar arches where you need a compact side light that sits proud of the surface.
The mounting footprint is about 3.63 in wide, with threaded #10-24 mounting holes and a 2.875 in hole spacing. Mount it with marine-grade sealant, and position it so the output is not blocked by rails, canvas, or hardware and so reflections do not end up in the helm line of sight.
Key features
- Starboard green navigation output with 112.5° arc coverage
- U.S. Coast Guard 2 nautical mile visibility rating for vessels up to 50 m (165 ft)
- Conforms to ABYC A-16:2016 navigation light requirements
- Accepts 10-30 VDC input for 12V and 24V DC systems
- Low draw for long runs: about 25 mA at 12V and 15 mA at 24V
- Aluminum surface-mount housing for vertical mounting when no inset pocket is available
- Threaded #10-24 mounting holes (0.45 in thread depth) with 2.875 in mounting center spacing
- Positive feed connects to the red lead for straightforward wiring
Installation and setup
Use the mounting template to mark the hole locations and keep the light level so the full arc of visibility stays clear. Starboard lights belong on the right-hand side of the vessel when looking forward, and they need a mounting location that will not be obscured during normal running trim.
Bed the fixture with marine-grade sealant to keep water out of the fastener penetrations. The threaded holes are 0.45 in deep, so match screw length to the available thread depth and your mounting surface thickness.
Wire it to a dedicated navigation-light circuit with appropriate circuit protection. Feed switched positive DC to the red lead, and connect the return lead to your DC negative.
Compatibility and fit
This light is intended to serve as the starboard side light in a standard navigation-light set. Pair it with a matching port (red) side light and the stern or all-round light required for your vessel configuration so the full system meets the visibility and coverage rules for your operating conditions.
Use cases on board
This is a good match for refits where you are replacing older incandescent side lights and want a low-draw LED fixture that mounts on a flat vertical surface. It also fits new builds that need a clean surface-mount solution on hardtops, pilothouses, and arches without cutting an inset pocket.
