Overview

The Victron Energy BAT548110620 is a 51.2 V, 100 Ah Lithium NG LiFePO4 battery for 48 V DC energy storage systems on boats. It stores 5120 Wh of nominal energy at 25 °C and is built for installations that need a high-capacity lithium bank with integrated cell and battery monitoring through a compatible Victron NG BMS.

This battery suits larger DC house banks, inverter systems, solar charging setups, and electric loads where a conventional lead-acid bank would take up too much space or weight. It supports 100 A continuous charge and discharge current, has 92 percent round trip efficiency, and carries an IP65 protection class for compartments where moisture and spray are part of normal marine life.

An external Victron NG BMS is required. The battery communicates cell voltages, cell temperatures, and battery current to the BMS, allowing the system to monitor and control charging and loads through VictronConnect, a GX device, and the VRM Portal when the rest of the system is configured for it.

Key features
  • 51.2 V nominal LiFePO4 battery with 100 Ah capacity and 5120 Wh nominal energy for 48 V DC banks.
  • 100 A continuous charge and discharge rating supports substantial inverter and DC load use when the system is correctly sized.
  • Integrated shunt and cell monitoring send battery current, cell voltage, and temperature data to a compatible Victron NG BMS.
  • IP65 protection class helps the enclosure handle damp marine compartments and routine exposure to spray or washdown conditions.
  • Cycle life is rated at 2500 cycles at 80 percent depth of discharge, 3000 cycles at 70 percent, and 5000 cycles at 50 percent.
  • M8 power connections and a 50 cm BMS interface cable with M8 circular connector support a clean installation in a properly planned battery compartment.
  • Mounting can be done with straps or brackets, and the battery may be installed upright or on its side when the terminals are not facing down.
  • Battery firmware updates are handled automatically by the connected BMS, reducing service steps after installation.
Installation and setup

This battery should be installed as part of a complete Victron Lithium NG system, not as a drop-in standalone battery. It must be paired with a compatible NG BMS, with chargers, alternator regulation, inverter-chargers, fusing, cabling, and disconnects sized for the vessel and the expected load profile.

The enclosure measures 235 x 648 x 162 mm and weighs about 37 kg, so the mounting surface needs to support the battery securely in normal vessel motion. Use the M8 threaded inserts and bolts for the main power connections, and route the BMS communication cable where it will not be strained, crushed, or exposed to chafe.

Electrical and system integration

The recommended charge voltage range is 56 V to 56.8 V, with a 54 V float voltage. Maximum continuous charge current is 100 A, and maximum pulse charge current is 200 A for 10 seconds, so charging sources should be configured to stay within the battery and BMS limits.

For monitoring, Bluetooth is handled through the BMS rather than the battery by itself. In a full Victron system, that makes the battery easier to integrate with a GX display or remote VRM monitoring for owners who want to keep an eye on state, alarms, and system behavior from the helm, cabin, or shore.

Use cases on board

This battery is a strong match for cruising boats, catamarans, and workboats moving toward a 48 V house or inverter bank with solar, alternator charging, and higher DC demand. It also makes sense for vessels where space and weight matter, but the electrical system still needs careful engineering rather than a simple battery swap.

It is best suited to owners, installers, and refit projects already building around Victron NG lithium components. For saltwater boats, the IP65 enclosure is helpful, but the battery should still be mounted in a protected battery compartment with sound ventilation, secure hold-downs, and clean cable support.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
