Overview
The i2Systems AP-4W-65K-PW44 is a recessed Apeiron A1110Z LED downlight with a square/square brushed nickel trim and a 6500K cool white output. It runs on 9 to 30V DC and draws 4.5W, so it fits typical 12V and 24V onboard systems. The fixed 120° beam spreads light across a broad area, which works well for general overhead lighting rather than a tight spotlight effect.
This fixture uses spring clips for a clean, screw-free installation. Plan for a 2.75 in (70 mm) cutout and about 1.24 in (32 mm) of mounting depth, with the finished trim covering a 3.15 in (80 mm) square footprint. The housing is IP67 rated for damp and wet locations, but it is not meant for submersion or spots where water can stand.
Key features
- 9 to 30V DC input for 12V and 24V electrical systems
- 4.5W LED downlight with 6500K cool white appearance
- Square/square trim in brushed nickel finish for a modern, clean look
- Spring-clip recessed mounting with a 2.75 in (70 mm) cutout and 1.24 in (32 mm) depth requirement
- IP67 rated for damp and wet locations; not intended for submersible installs or areas with standing water
- 120° fixed beam for general lighting across cabins, heads, and covered exterior spaces
- Simple power wiring plus an optional dimming control lead for 0 to 100% dimming (PWM 100 to 300 Hz, max 30V)
- Built-in safeguards including reverse polarity protection, transient protection, and an auto-reset fuse
Installation and setup
Mark the cutout carefully and dry-fit the light before final wiring, especially in thin headliners or composite panels where spring clips need solid bite. Leave a little service loop so the fixture can be pulled down later without straining the cable, and keep the wiring compartment dry and accessible.
For exterior or washdown-prone areas, seal the cutout edge and any nearby junction points so moisture cannot migrate into void spaces. Avoid mounting locations that see constant runoff or direct high-pressure spray, and do not install where water can pool behind the panel.
Electrical and dimming integration
Power is straightforward on DC systems: connect positive feed to the red lead and ground to the black lead. If you are using dimming, the yellow lead is the control input. Keep all control signals within 30V DC maximum, and confirm your dimmer output type and frequency are compatible with PWM control.
Use on board
This configuration is a good match when you want a cooler, whiter light for detail work and clean visibility in places like a galley, head, companionway, pilot house, or under a hardtop. The square brushed nickel trim also pairs nicely with modern hardware and stainless accents in newer builds and refits.
Maintenance and care
Wipe the trim and lens with a damp cloth and mild soap, then rinse with fresh water in salt environments. Check the cutout seal and wiring area during routine onboard inspections, especially if the light lives in a damp headliner or a covered exterior space.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
