Overview

The Garmin 010-03855-00 is a GPSMAP 1523xsv ultrawide chartplotter and fishfinder with SideVü, ClearVü, and traditional CHIRP sonar plus a worldwide basemap.

It uses a 15-inch ultrawide IPS touchscreen with 1920 x 720 resolution and a viewable area of 13.6 x 5.1 inches (14.5-inch diagonal). Power input is 10 to 32 Vdc, so it fits typical 12V and 24V boat systems.

This unit has a built-in sounder (up to 1 kW output), but it still needs a compatible transducer to transmit and receive sonar. A transducer is not included with this part number.

Key features
  • 15-inch ultrawide IPS touchscreen with 1920 x 720 resolution and polarized sunglasses viewability
  • IPX7 water rating for exposed helms and routine washdowns
  • 10 to 32 Vdc input for 12V and 24V systems
  • Typical current draw 2.44 A at 12 Vdc; maximum current draw 4.21 A at 12 Vdc
  • Built-in SideVü, ClearVü, and traditional CHIRP sonar support with 1 kW output, plus Panoptix and LiveScope compatibility
  • Two Garmin Marine Network ports for connecting compatible network accessories
  • NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 compatibility, plus a J1939 port for compatible engine data sharing
  • Video input (BNC composite) for a compatible camera feed
  • Two rear microSD card slots for charts, updates, and data transfer
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (BLE) support for pairing with compatible devices
Compatibility and fit

Overall size is 15.3 x 7.02 x 3.3 inches and weight is 7.2 lb. Plan for rear clearance for the power lead, network cabling, and access to the two microSD slots on the back of the unit.

Mounting options include bail, flush, or flat mounting. A thin flush-mount kit with gasket is included; flat-mount installs typically involve custom work at the helm.

Electrical and system integration

With a 10 to 32 Vdc input range, the unit can be wired to standard 12V or 24V house systems. For load planning, it draws about 2.44 A at 12 Vdc in typical use and up to 4.21 A at 12 Vdc, with maximum power usage listed at 56.93 W (at 10 Vdc).

NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 connections support sharing navigation and instrument data with compatible onboard electronics. It also includes a 2 m NMEA 2000 backbone/drop cable and a T-connector to tie into an existing network.

Sonar and transducer notes

The GPSMAP 1523xsv has a built-in sounder with a 12-pin transducer port. A compatible transducer is required for SideVü, ClearVü, and traditional CHIRP sonar functions and is not included with this part number.

An 8-pin transducer to 12-pin sounder adapter cable is included, which can help when reusing an existing 8-pin transducer on a new install.

On-board use

The ultrawide screen works well when you want chart and sonar side-by-side without stacking multiple displays. It fits center consoles, sportfishers, and cruisers where the helm benefits from a wide, split-screen layout and quick touch control.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
