Overview
The Victron Energy Busbar 250 A with Cover is a DC distribution busbar for bringing battery cables and DC equipment feeds together at one clean connection point. It is rated for 250 A and up to 70 VDC, making it suitable for many 12V, 24V, and 48V onboard DC systems when the rest of the installation is sized correctly.
This busbar helps reduce stacked cable lugs on battery posts and keeps high-current wiring easier to inspect in a battery compartment, electrical locker, helm console, or equipment panel. The 5/16 inch / 8 mm terminals work with correctly sized ring terminals, while the removable ABS cover helps shield the live bus area after installation.
Key features
- 250 A maximum current rating for high-current DC distribution on board.
- 70 VDC maximum voltage rating for common low-voltage marine electrical systems.
- 5/16 inch / 8 mm terminal diameter for use with matching ring terminals.
- Tin-plated copper busbar strip helps maintain good conductivity in demanding electrical installations.
- Stainless steel terminals and tin-plated copper hex nuts support secure cable connections.
- Removable ABS protection cover helps reduce accidental contact with the energized busbar.
- Recommended torque is 110 lbf inch / 13 N m, which gives installers a clear target for terminal tightening.
- With-cover dimensions are 1.9 x 9.4 x 2.8 inch / 48 x 237 x 70 mm for both connection versions.
Variants
This product is offered in two connection layouts so the busbar can match the number of cable landings needed in the DC system.
The 4P and 6P versions share the same 250 A current rating, 70 VDC voltage rating, terminal size, busbar strip material, base material, cover material, and overall with-cover dimensions. The main difference is the number of terminal connection points available on the bar.
- VBB125040010: Connections 4P. The four-terminal layout suits a smaller distribution point where fewer battery or DC equipment cables need to land on the same common bar.
- VBB125060020: Connections 6P. The six-terminal layout adds two more high-current connection points for systems with more cable runs to combine at one busbar.
Installation and setup
Mount the busbar on a firm, heat-resistant surface with enough clearance for cable bend radius, terminal access, and cover removal. In a boat installation, it should be placed where it stays protected from direct spray, loose gear, and unnecessary mechanical strain on the cables.
Use properly crimped ring terminals that match the cable size and the 5/16 inch / 8 mm studs. After the cables are landed and torqued, refit the cover so the energized connections are less exposed during normal service and inspection.
Compatibility and fit
This busbar is a practical match for battery banks, inverter and charger feeds, DC distribution panels, and other high-current DC circuits where several cables need a common positive or negative connection point. It does not replace circuit protection, switching, or correct cable sizing, so fuses, breakers, disconnects, and cable gauges should be selected for the full system load and installation standard.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
