Overview
The Simrad 000-11148-001 is a pole mount for installing GS25, ZG100, and POINT-1 GPS and heading sensors where they have a clear view of the sky and less deck-level interference. It supports the standard 14-threads-per-inch pole-mount pattern used by these sensors, so you can mount them on a dedicated mast or antenna-style pole instead of a flush or surface location.
On most boats, a pole mount makes the most sense when you are dealing with a hardtop, T-top, radar arch, or a crowded console where the sensor would otherwise sit too close to antennas, radar, or other electronics. Raising the sensor can also help keep heading performance steadier at low speed, which matters when you are using chart stabilization or radar overlay.
Key features
- Fits GS25, ZG100, and POINT-1 GPS and heading sensors.
- Uses the same 14-threads-per-inch pole-mount interface used by these sensors.
- Moves the sensor off the deck to a pole location for a cleaner sky view and fewer obstructions.
- Helps create separation from nearby electronics that can affect GPS reception and electronic compass readings.
- Supports mounting positions commonly used on hardtops, T-tops, arches, and stern poles.
Installation and setup
Mount the pole where it stays rigid underway and where the sensor will not be shaded by a hardtop edge, rocket launcher, or light bar. If the sensor you are installing includes a built-in heading sensor, plan the mount location so the sensor can be oriented straight ahead on the boat and kept away from gear that can create magnetic disturbance.
When routing the cable, keep it protected from chafe and avoid running it tightly alongside high-current wiring. If the installation requires any deck penetrations, seal them properly to prevent water intrusion into the core or wiring spaces.
Placement and interference
Maintain at least 0.5 m (20 in) separation from radar arrays and from strong magnetic-field sources, and at least 2 m (6 ft) from radio transmitters. These clearances help the GPS receiver maintain stable satellite tracking and help the electronic compass avoid local distortion.
System integration notes
These sensors integrate over NMEA 2000, so relocating one to a pole often means planning your NMEA 2000 drop cable run. Keep the total drop length within 4.55 m (15 ft) so the network stays within typical installation limits.
On networks using POINT-1 heading data, avoid installing two POINT-1 units (or a second heading sensor) if you expect both to output heading at the same time. This mount is a good match for boats that need a reliable, elevated sensor location for chartplotters, radar overlay, or autopilot heading input without rearranging the rest of the electronics on the console.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
