Overview
The Simrad 000-14379-001 is a 20 m (65.6 ft) NMEA 2000 Micro-C medium duty network cable with low-loss 18-gauge conductors for backbone runs.
It is used to link sections of an NMEA 2000 backbone between T-connectors or other backbone components when you need the reach for a longer run across the boat. The orange locking collars make the cable easy to spot during installation and help keep connections secure when the boat is vibrating underway.
This cable is a good match for larger center consoles, cruisers, and sailboats where the network needs to run from a helm station to an engine room, flybridge, or other remote electronics location without piecing together multiple shorter cables.
Key features
- 20 m (65.6 ft) length for long NMEA 2000 backbone spans
- Low-loss 18-gauge conductors suited to backbone runs where cable losses matter
- Micro-C NMEA 2000 connectors for standard Micro-C network hardware
- Orange locking collars for quick identification and secure hand-tight connections
- Useful for extending an existing backbone between network junctions across the vessel
Compatibility and fit
Fits NMEA 2000 networks that use Micro-C connectors. If your boat has a different connector style on the backbone, plan on the correct adapter or matching hardware so the connection stays standard end to end.
Because this is a long cable, it is typically used as part of the backbone rather than as a device lead. Keep the rest of the network layout consistent with normal NMEA 2000 practice, including proper network power and termination at the ends of the backbone.
Installation and setup
Route the cable with gentle bends and add strain relief near connectors so the plug is not carrying the weight of the run. Leave enough slack at each end to service T-connectors or backbone fittings later without pulling on the connection.
When mating Micro-C connectors, align the pins carefully and tighten the collars by hand until snug. After the network is assembled, power up and confirm that every device appears on the NMEA 2000 bus before closing up panels and tying off the final cable runs.
Use on board
Common installs include running the NMEA 2000 backbone from helm electronics to the engine room for engine gateways, to a flybridge, or to a nav station on a sailboat. It also helps when adding a new group of instruments or sensors a long distance from the existing backbone without reworking the whole network.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
