Overview

The B&G 000-14378-001 is a 10 m (33 ft) NMEA 2000 Micro-C medium duty cable built with low loss 18 gauge conductors for longer network runs. It is commonly used when you need to extend a backbone segment without splicing wire or when the next T-connector or backbone component is simply farther away than your current cabling allows.

This cable has Micro-C connectors on each end (male to female), so it can be inserted inline to lengthen an existing NMEA 2000 path. On a boat, that usually means stretching the backbone from the helm to another electronics cluster, or reaching a mast base, engine room, or aft lazarette while keeping the network wiring clean and serviceable.

Key features
  • 10 m (33 ft) length for extending NMEA 2000 runs on larger boats or longer routing paths
  • Low loss 18 gauge cable suited to backbone segments where voltage drop and signal integrity matter
  • Micro-C connectors with male to female ends for straightforward inline extension
  • Medium duty NMEA 2000 cable format that routes cleanly through typical chases and conduits
  • Compatible with NMEA 2000 networks that use Micro-C cabling and standard T-connectors
Compatibility and fit

This is a Micro-C style NMEA 2000 cable. Before ordering, confirm your network uses Micro-C connectors throughout and that you have an appropriate place in the backbone to add an inline extension. If your boat has a different connector family, you will need the correct adapter or a matching cable type instead of forcing connections.

Installation and setup

Route the cable where it is protected from chafe, standing water, and high heat, and support it so it is not hanging from the connectors. Hand-tighten the Micro-C locking collars so the O-ring seats properly, and leave enough slack near service points so equipment can be pulled for inspection without stressing the network.

When planning your network, remember that every added cable length contributes to the overall NMEA 2000 layout. If you are expanding an existing system, it is worth confirming your backbone and drop lengths still stay within typical NMEA 2000 installation limits.

Use cases on board

This length is a good match for installations where the NMEA 2000 backbone has to span between zones, such as helm to cockpit, helm to flybridge, or forward cabin to aft systems. It also fits sailboat layouts where instruments, sensors, and displays are distributed along a longer run from mast to nav station.

Maintenance and care

Periodically check that the locking collars stay snug and that connectors remain clean and dry, especially in lockers that see washdowns or condensation. If you disconnect the cable for service, inspect the pins and seals before reconnecting, and keep unused network ports capped to reduce corrosion risk.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
