Overview
The Simrad 000-14376-001 is a 2 m (6.5 ft) NMEA 2000 Micro-C medium duty network cable for extending a backbone run between network components. It uses low-loss 18-gauge conductors, which helps keep signal strength up when you need a longer span than a short jumper.
Use it to link Micro-C tees, power insertion points, and terminators when you are stretching the backbone from the helm to a console, flybridge, or aft station. It is also a straightforward way to avoid stacking joiners and extra connection points in wet or high-vibration areas.
Key features
- 2 m (6.5 ft) length for backbone extensions between NMEA 2000 Micro-C network components
- Low-loss 18-gauge cable specified for network backbone runs
- Micro-C connector ends to match standard NMEA 2000 tees, terminators, and power nodes
- Medium duty construction suited to typical onboard routing through cable chases and consoles
- Helps keep a backbone layout clean by reducing the need for additional couplers
Compatibility and fit
This cable is for NMEA 2000 networks that use Micro-C connectors. It is not a substitute for a device drop cable that runs from a tee to an individual instrument, and it is not used for NMEA 0183 wiring.
If your boat has a mix of connector styles, confirm that every component on the run you are extending is Micro-C on both sides, or plan for the correct adapter at the transition point.
Installation and setup
Route the cable so it stays supported and protected from chafe, and avoid tight bends near the connectors. Keep it clear of high-current power runs where possible, and leave a small service loop so network tees and devices can be moved for troubleshooting.
Hand-tighten the locking collars fully so the connection stays seated in a wet environment, and place the run where you can still access it if you need to add a tee or isolate a segment later.
Use cases on board
This length is commonly used when a backbone needs to span between helm electronics and another station, or when you are adding NMEA 2000 devices farther away from the existing network cluster. It suits boats that are expanding a network to carry engine data, heading, AIS, autopilot, or sensor information across multiple displays.
Maintenance and care
Periodically check that the connectors remain snug and free of salt buildup, especially in exposed consoles and under-deck lockers. If you ever disconnect the network, keep the connector ends clean and protected until everything is reassembled.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
