Overview

The Simrad 000-13920-001 is a through-hull CHIRP transducer that operates in the 95-155 kHz range and provides depth plus water temperature to a compatible Simrad sounder.

It runs at 300 W and is aimed at shallow to mid-depth fishing, with a published maximum depth performance up to 183 m (600 ft), depending on bottom type and sea conditions. Beamwidth varies with frequency, from about 26 degrees down to 17 degrees, which helps keep targets separated when you are working structure or fish that are suspended.

This is the 0 degree Tilted Element version, intended for hull deadrise angles from 0 to 7 degrees so the beam points straight down when the housing sits flush. Connection is via a black 9-pin plug on a 10 m (33 ft) cable.

Key features
  • Medium CHIRP band of 95-155 kHz with 60 kHz of bandwidth from a single transducer
  • 300 W output with published maximum depth performance up to 183 m (600 ft), conditions permitting
  • Beamwidth from 26 degrees to 17 degrees for coverage that still keeps targets defined
  • Depth and fast-response water temperature sensing in one through-hull unit
  • 0 degree Tilted Element housing for hull deadrise angles from 0 to 7 degrees
  • Bronze, low-profile through-hull housing intended for fiberglass or wood hull installations
  • Black 9-pin connector with 10 m (33 ft) cable for compatible Simrad sonar connections
Compatibility and fit

The 9-pin connector and CHIRP frequency band are meant for Simrad systems that support CHIRP sonar on a 9-pin transducer port. Check your display or sonar module for connector type and supported transducer inputs before committing to the install.

The 0 degree model is the right match when the mounting location has little deadrise. If your hull angle at the chosen spot is higher than 7 degrees, a different tilt option is typically required so the beam stays vertical.

Installation and setup

Plan for a 51 mm (2 inch) through-hull hole and choose a location that stays in clean water flow while underway, away from strakes, steps, and turbulence sources. A careful bedding job with marine sealant and correct orientation are what make the difference between solid bottom tracking and noisy returns.

Route the 10 m cable so it is protected from chafe and heat, and keep it clear of moving parts and sharp edges. Through-hull installs affect the hull structure and watertight integrity, so many owners have a yard or experienced installer handle the cutout and sealing.

Use on board

This transducer is a good match for anglers who run a Simrad CHIRP sounder and want medium-band performance for bays, nearshore grounds, and inland waters where fish and structure sit in the same zone. When installed properly, the low-profile housing helps maintain a clean sonar picture as speed comes up.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
